How long have you been with Monroe Smiles?
With Jeremy? Since he was born–he’s my brother!

With Dr. Johnson? Since October 2016

Why do you do what you do?
Many industries have a stigma attached to them, and dentistry is no exception. I love having the opportunity to change people’s perceptions. When a patient comes to our office, they have a totally unique, enjoyable, and unexpected experience. And our online patient reviews are a testament to that.

What do you love about your work?
I love our team. They are fun, competent, and passionate. We have a blast working together. And yes, practical jokes are involved. I also love the satisfaction of knowing our patients are receiving dental care that is second to none, in a relaxing and comfortable environment.

What do you do with your time off?
That’s none of your business, and I’ll thank you to stay out of my personal affairs. Just kidding! I love golfing, reading, traveling, watching movies, road trips with my wife, and hanging out and playing games with my kids (X4). I like spending time in California in the winter, and then in the summer, I like to spend time in California.

Autumn – Patient Care Coordinator

How long have you been with Monroe Smiles?
Since July 2017- best day of my life!

Why do you do what you do?
Going to the dentist can be a stressful event for some people–then add on insurance and billing? That can be stressful for anyone! I like being able to take a stressful and overwhelming part of a visit and make it lighter and more enjoyable for everyone. I appreciate working together with both the doctor and the patient to create the best treatment plan for each person. Helping our patients become their healthiest selves is the best part of my job.

What do you love about your work?
Hands down the best part of my job is the people I get to work with! The entire staff is like a family.

What do you do with your time off?
I am so lucky to live where I like to call “Fern Gully”–over a bridge and through the woods–where all spring, summer and fall I have bonfires, play lawn games and swim in the creek! I love having friends over to enjoy it with me. I also spend time with my nine nieces and nephews–I’m their favorite auntie!

Education
Lake Washington Technical Center: Associate of Science in dental hygiene, registered dental hygienist (RDH)

How long have you been with Monroe Smiles?
Since November 2015.

Why do you do what you do?
I chose to become a dental hygienist because I wanted to help people and because I grew up having problems with my own teeth. I wanted to help educate people so that they can have healthy teeth for a lifetime.

What do you love about your work?
I love helping people to achieve healthy gums and teeth…which helps them to be healthier overall! I also love having the opportunity to get to know my patients and their families.

What do you do with your time off?
When I’m not at work, I like to hike, camp (well, maybe more like “glamp”), go boating, read, and spend time with my family and friends.

Ashley – Registered Dental Assistant

How long have you been with Monroe Smiles?
Since September 2015.

Why do you do what you do?
I love how beautiful and unique each patient’s smile is. More than anything, I enjoy helping patients feel confident and love their own smiles!

What do you love about your work?
Getting to know each patient I meet–whether we laugh, console, or reminisce! It is a joy to meet new people and to hear stories about their lives…and to hear singing all around the office!

What do you do with your time off?
On my time off, I love taking my daughter on walks or drives all around this beautiful state. I love being with my friends and family, reading, being outdoors, and spur-of-the-moment road trips!
